This is an article about me – le photographe.  I first became interested in photography at around the age of 11. At the time I was taught by a monk who was passionate about the subject and taught a couple of us all he knew from composition to developing an image in the darkroom.I have always had a camera close by wherever I have been, but my real return to photography was when I entered the numeric world in 2007. Since that date I have spent an enormous amount of time dedicated to perfectioning the art of digital photography, through the use of strobe lights – my mobile studio, to the art of the lightroom, understanding and mastering the skills needed in various professional software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom 3 etc through the numerous online trainings I have followed and then to the application of putting that knowledge to work in a practical sense.The real objective of my photography has not changed – to capture a moment as I see it, the art being in the ability with a trained eye to see something in front of me which would tell its own story, through the subtle use of black and white or sepia when the colour image could be seen to be too overpowering. While today I am still passionate about photography -ever more so than before- the situation has evolved now in that photography has found me as people have asked me to take pictures for them. Little by little this has grown and today is still growing, therefore I took the legal and fiscal measures necessary to register myself professionally as an Artisan Photographe, as the status is known here in France. As a teacher, still in activity, photography also offers the social contact -but even more so as we are often the witness private an emotive moments, which must be captured whilst showing tact and discretion, so as not to intrude and break the magic of the moment. To me, photography is the most enjoyable profession I know of, the reason which I am striving to build up my business so as to work with people more often and to see where this adventure takes me.
